GSAT-24 Mission

NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), a Govt. of India company under Department of Space (DoS) is undertaking GSAT-24 satellite mission as its 1st Demand Driven mission post space reforms. GSAT-24 is a 24-Ku band communication satellite weighing 4180 kg with Pan India coverage for meeting DTH application needs. NSIL has leased the entire satellite capacity to M/s Tata Play. The status update on GSAT-24 mission GSAT-24 satellite after completing assembly, integration and environmental test was cleared by PSR (Pre-Shipment Review) committee on May 2, 2022.     Satellite and its allied equipments were shipped to Kourou, French Guiana on May 18, 2022 using C-17 Globemaster aircrafts. Satellite was received in Kourou on May 19, 2022. As part of launch campaign activities, the satellite is presently undergoing health/ performance checks at clean room facilities in French Guiana. Launch on-board Ariane-V VA257 flight is scheduled for June 22, 2022

Global distribution of Fold Mountains and the Earthquakes and Volcanoes.

Fold mountains are formed from sedimentary rocks that accumulate along the margins of continents, when two tectonic plates move together. When the plates and the continents riding on them collide, the accumulation layers of rock may crumple and fold, particularly if there is a mechanically weak layer such as salt. These accumulated layer or sediments are then pushed together by volcanic islands to form folds, which eventually form fold mountains.  Mostly, in the interaction between oceanic plate and continental plate, oceanic plate gets subducted beneath the margins of continental plates, giving rise to mighty mountains. This deal will lead to displacement of farmers from their own land and hence force them to restart their lives from a scratch.  (2) Transparency vs Confidentiality: It is known that transparency is very important for the good governance. But at times, non-disclosing about the details of a project before the commencement of work is deriable. The origin of the Mughal School of Painting is considered to be a landmark in the history of painting in India. With the establishment of the Mughal empire, the Mughal School of painting originated in the reign of Akbar in 1560 A.D. Emperor Akbar was keenly interested in the art of painting and architecture. While a boy he had taken lessons in drawing. In the beginning of his rule an ateliar of painting was established under the supervision of two Persian masters, Mir Sayyed Ali and Abdul Samad Khan, who were originally employed by his father Humayun. A large number of Indian artists from all over India were recruited to work under the Persian masters. The Mughal style evolved as a result of a happy synthesis of the indigenous Indian style of painting and the Safavid school of Persian painting.
