1. English* 

2. Arithmetic 

3. General Science 

4. History of India, Indian culture, Indian National Movement 

5. Principles of Geography, Indian Geography, Polity and Economy 

6. Current events of national and international importance 

7. Test of Reasoning / Mental Ability 

8. Contents pertaining to the State of Telangana. 


* The questions relating to English Language in the syllabus will be set in English only in the Telugu/Urdu versions of the question paper also. 

Note: In case any dispute about any question or answer, the decision taken by the Subject Expert Committee shall be final. The Board does not prescribe any particular textbook or publication and is not bound by the material appearing in any book or publication.

Public Undertakings Committee

The Committee on Public Undertakings is a Parliamentary Committee consisting of 22 Members, fifteen of whom are elected by the Lok Sabha every year from amongst its Members according to the principle of proportional representation by means of a single transferable vote and seven Members to be nominated by Rajya Sabha for being associated with the Committee. The Chairman is appointed by the Speaker from amongst the Members of the Committee. A Minister is not eligible to become a Member of the Committee. If a Member after his election to the Committee is appointed a Minister, he ceases to be a Member of the Committee from the date of such appointment. Dead zones are low-oxygen, or hypoxic, areas in the world’s oceans and lakes. Because most organisms need oxygen to live, few organisms can survive in hypoxic conditions. That is way these areas are called dead zones. Dead zones in the coastal oceans have spread exponentially since the 1960s and have serious consequences for ecosystem functioning. One of the largest dead zones forms in the Gulf of Mexico every spring. Hypoxic zones can occur naturally but climate change, nutrients run-off from the land, and eutrophication are leading to algal bloom and causing further depletion of oxygen level in water. This approach is called in situ (on site) conservation .  In situ conservation – Faced with the conflict between development and conservation, many nations find it unrealistic and economically not feasible to conserve all their biological wealth.
