What items are banned during the Personality Tests (Interviews) in the UPSC premises?

Mobile phones (even in switched off mode), any electronic equipment or programmable device or storage media like pen drive, smart watches etc. or camera or bluetooth devices or any other equipment or related accessories either in working or switched off mode capable of being used as a communication device or any other communication devices and IT gadgets, are banned items and are, therefore, not allowed inside the premises of the Venue where the Examination is being conducted as also in the UPSC premises during conduct of the Personality Tests (Interview). Any infringement of these instructions shall entail disciplinary action including cancellation of candidature for that Examination and debarment from all future Examinations/Selections of the Commission.

Candidates are advised in their own interest not to bring any of the banned items including mobile phones/Bluetooth devices etc. (as detailed above) to the Venue of the Examination and the UPSC premises when the examination process is underway.

Candidates are also advised not to bring any valuable/expensive items to the Examination Halls/UPSC premises, as safety of such items cannot be assured. The Commission will not be responsible for any loss in this regard.

PM Modi unveils bronze statue of Freedom Fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju in Andhra Pradesh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today unveiled a bronze statue of freedom fighter Alluri Sitarama Raju, at a special programme on his 125th birth anniversary celebrations, in Bhimavaram, Andhra Pradesh. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Modi said as country celebrates Amrit Mahotsav of 75 years of independence, we alongside are celebrating 125th anniversary of Alluri Sitarama Raju. He said 100 years of 'Rampa Kranti' for country's independence has also been completed. The Prime Minister said new India should be an India of the dreams of fighters who gave their lives for our freedom. He said in past 8 years, we have worked with full devotion, walking on the principles of Alluri Sitarama Raju towards the welfare of tribals. Farmers’ organisations refer to group of farmers who are organised to protect their own interests related to issues like minimum support price, subsidies, welfare schemes for farmers, etc.  Ex: Bharatiya Kisan Sabha, Sehkari Sangatan, Karnataka Raitha Sangha, etc..  Farmer’s organisations, being a pressure group, follows different types of protests to influence policy-makers:  (a) Lobbying: here they influence policy-makers by providing information about their demands and grievances. Many reasons may be identified for the partition of Bengal in 1905. According to the British Government, the Bengal province consisting of Bihar, Orissa, Assam was too big to be welt governed. Crisis of conscience is when you feel guilty after realisation of any wrong action that you did. One always thinks of what he has done wrong. He can’t be happy with the feeling of guilt within himself.  It is a case of ethical dilemma, but often in a strong sense. CARTOSAT – 2A, ISRO Satellite

  PSLV-C9 is the thirteenth flight of ISRO's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) and the third flight of its 'Core Alone' version as well. In this flight, PSLV launched ten payloads - India's 690 kg CARTOSAT-2A and 83 kg Indian Mini Satellite (IMS-1) as well as eight nanosatellites from abroad together weighing about 50 kg into a 635 km high polar Sun Synchronous Orbit (SSO) inclined at an angle of 97.94 deg to the equator.   With much lighter payloads compared to the ones placed into orbit by its standard version, PSLV-C9 is configured without the six solid propellant strap-on motors of the first stage. The previous two launches of PSLV were also such 'Core Alone' versions. e-Community Certificate is sufficient for TNPSC

1. What is the percentage of reservation for women?  A Minimum of 30 % of all vacancies are allotted for Woman Applicants. Women applicants are eligible for 30% of vacancies in each Communal Category and General Category based on the Rule of Reservation. Women/Transgender (Female) candidates shall be eligible to compete in the said 30% reservation. They shall also be entitled to compete in the remaining 70% of the vacancies along with Male Candidates/Third Gender/Third Gender (Male) applicants.  2. Which documents are required to be sent to the UPSC for legal cases?

In legal re-imbursement cases, the following documents are required to be furnished:-  a) Completed proforma;  b) Certified Copy of the judgment;  c) Stamped receipts for fees paid to lawyers;  d) Original Claim of the Claimant;  e) Certified copy of order sheet or a certificate showing the number of days on which the case was posted for hearing and on which it was actually heard.  f) In cases where the claims involved are for an amount exceeding Rs. 500/- the views of the Ministry of Law/Law Officer on the admissibility and reasonableness of the claim should be obtained before the case is placed before the Commission.
