Committee On Food Management In Parliament House Complex

The Speaker, in consultation with the Chairman, Rajya Sabha, has constituted w.e.f. 15 October, 2009, the Committee on Food Management in Parliament House Complex, consisting of 15 members, 10 from Lok Sabha and 5 from Rajya Sabha, with the following terms of reference:- 

(i) to consider the revision of rates of eatables served at Railway Catering Units located in Parliament House Complex; 

(ii) to consider the level of subsidy to be given for running Railway Catering Units in Parliament House Complex; 

(iii) to consider provision of excellent canteen services to members; and 

(iv) to consider other related issues. The Committee shall hold office for a term not exceeding one year.

Public Services Code as recommended by the 2nd Administrative Reforms Commission

The Reforms of 1909 & Controversy of Indian Electoral System

In 1909, the government introduced some constitutional reforms in Indian, to please the moderate leaders and strengthen their position in the congress. These reforms are named after Morley, the secretary of the state for India, who piloted the bill through the British Parliament. Though it was the first true attempt at introducing a representative and popular element, it was not free from flaws. The real aim of the reforms was to divide the nationalist ranks and to check the growth of unity among Indians.  The reforms introduced the system of separate electorate, under which all the muslims were gathered in separate constituencies from which only muslim candidates could be elected. Economic policies of the British in India from eighteenth century to Independence

British control over India began purely out of economic considerations with political factor assuming primacy in the later stages. The English East India company assumed the Diwani rights over a large part of east India following their victory at Plassey (1757) and Buxar (1764).
